Open auditions: “The Miracle Worker”
7 to 10 p.m. at the Calumet Theatre ballroom
The Calumet Players spring production of “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson and directed by Mike Aubin is holding open auditions Jan. 16, 17, and 18 in the ballroom of The Calumet Theatre. Jan. 18 is reserved for callbacks. All ages are welcome! Several roles are available, those seeking to audition are only required to come with an eagerness to act. Sides will be provided.

Jaws of Life used to extract driver from vehicle, in critical condition
Keweenaw Report
Hurontown Fire and Rescue was called to the scene to extract the injured driver of one vehicle with the jaws of life. She was then transported to UPHS – Portage for treatment. MSP reports that the driver remains in critical condition.

The agenda, first unveiled by the newly elected House and Senate leadership late Wednesday, will look to repeal a tax on retirees’ pensions, increase the Earned Income Tax Credit, expand anti-discrimination protections and restore a prevailing wage policy.

According to a press release from the KBIC, after certifying the election results and swearing in the following elected officials: Associate Judge Violet Friisvall Ayres and Council members: Austin Ayres, Edward M. Edwards, Everett Ekdahl Jr., and Rodney Loonsfoot, the Council voted for Executive Board positions for 2023.
