While many of us make merry, some of us are preparing for the Upper Peninsula's harshest season — in a difficult year

Across the street from the block that burned down earlier this year in Calumet, the Copper Country Angel Mission works to keep people warm and fed for the winter.

We’re all having a lot of ups and downs lately, but for some Copper Country residents, the only thing keeping them from hitting rock bottom is the local charities and the hard workers running them at risk of their own health.

Honoring our veterans

If you haven’t seen it before, I’d like to share this project from earlier this year with you for Veteran’s Day, which passed on Thursday.

I interviewed Joseph Enrietti, a tail-gunner in WWII, last year and submitted his story to the U.S. Library of Congress to be archived with the rest of our nation’s history.

His story is a fairly incredible one, worthy of a Hollywood movie, in my opinion.
