Happy to report that we’ve filed for non-profit status with the IRS. The last hurdle to the foundation is business registration with the State of Michigan. I’m pushing as fast as I can to get into a position to focus on recruiting, training, and paying freelancers.

KYCA demonstrates against Line 5, for community solar
by Davi Sprague
Keweenaw Youth for Climate Action (KYCA) organized a demonstration against the Enbridge Line 5 oil pipeline which stretches nearly the full length of both of Michigan's peninsulas citing the age of the pipeline as well as Enbridge's history of oil spills. KYCA also was petitioning an expansion of the energy cap on community solar which limits how much energy can be sold back to the grid as a better way to secure the U.P.'s energy future.
